First in Africa! Online Culinary Programme Launched at International Hotel School

Online Culinary Programme Launched2

The International Hotel School is excited to announce the launch of a new online culinary programme, the 1st of its kind in Africa. The programme was developed to meet the South African & Worldwide shortage of Chefs and the ever-evolving industry that is online learning. This programme is geared towards Chefs already working in the industry who have a great basic knowledge of cooking, and would like to upgrade their skills by receiving an internationally recognised Diploma. Once completing the programme, Chefs will be able to boost their career growth, by looking for job opportunities in both in South Africa and abroad.

Once enrolled on the programme, the learners will be able to complete it via the use of their Phone, Tablet or Computer. This self-managed programme allows learners to work at their own pace, so that they will never miss a lecture. Furthermore, the majority of the programme can be translated into all languages for easier learning.

“Since we launched the International Hotel School Online Learning platform, we have received many  enquiries from members of the public, Hoteliers and Chefs that are in search of educational institutions that will allow for them to upgrade their skills while still working”, says John Creighton, Managing Director of the International Hotel School.  “The Culinary and Hospitality Industries are both very demanding, yet rewarding industries. Having spent over 30 years working my way through the hospitality industry, managing many Hotels and owning my own restaurants, I can firmly say that both of these industries are extremely time demanding, often requiring individuals to not only work long hours but with shift work being the order of the day, these hours are often erratic. The result is that anyone wanting to study to improve their career prospects, cannot fully commit to their studies or attend a lecture at a nearby Education Institution. With this online culinary programme, the learners are able to complete their course from anywhere, at anytime. They will be able to allocate their own hours towards studying the programme, while still having the full support and guidance of the mentor Chef”, says John.

Here is what International Hotel School’s CEO, Mike Lambert had to say about the launch, “Over the years I have developed the title of being a fierce advocate for empowerment and relevant education in South Africa, which is without a doubt true. My team and I are constantly searching for new and innovative ways that will enhance students learning and allow for them to grow their skills, so that they consistently maintain a competitive edge within their profession. I am so proud to bring home Africa’s 1st and only Online Culinary Programme.” says Mike.
